"Thank you ... for a great course. It met and exceeded expectations and I now feel I have the theory to support and enhance my work, as well as a greater confidence to support others in this field."

Caroline Saunders, Asisstant Principal, The Regis School, Bognor, who recently completed the NVQ3 in the Management of Challenging Behaviour

Challenging Behaviour Management

Our lead trainer, Dr Catherine Brennan, is an experienced teacher, trainer and academic, with a specialism in working with challenging behaviour. Chris Rinaldi is a qualified teacher and instructor  who has been delivering outdoor activities to groups and individual young people for many years. The approach we take draws on the tenets of Choice Theory originally developed by psychologist William Glasser, and uses techniques drawn from Neuro Linguistic Programming.

Our focus is on recognising what we, as professionals, bring to challenging situations; on how young people are motivated in the choices they make, and on positive strategies to improve outcomes for all involved.

Releasing Potential can provide CBMT in a range of formats depending on your requirements. Examples of the ways we have delivered are:

  • Half day introductory course
  • One day course
  • Two day course

These usually take place at your venue.

  • We are now offering an NVQ Level 3 in Managing Challenging Behaviour. Our next open course will take place over four full days -    5th and 6th October then 23rd and 24th November 2016

This qualification is designed for all those who work with young people from Key Stage 2 up to age 25, and would be appropriate for anyone working in an educational or support setting. There are progression opportunities and the possibility of Recognition of Prior Learning for a number of Awards and Diplomas in Teaching and Learning/Children and Young People's Workforce development.
